The Ardee School

The Ardee School believes in equipping the students with skills required for active citizenship. The Student Council is seen as the student voice and acts as the bridge between the students and the leadership team. Their ideas on various issues, ranging from input for the Behaviour Policy of the school ; mentoring younger students; well being of the students; planning and executing school events and working on the outreach programme is deliberated upon and given the due importance it deserves.

The Student council is a democratically elected body of students led by the Head Boy and Head Girl. The election process is robust and transparent and based on the philosophy of empowering the students to be leaders. The Council works with its Coordinators to plan and execute its vision that echoes the ethos and vision of the school. The nomination for the student council has a clear criteria and expectations, any student who has met the attendance requirement of 90% is allowed to stand for the Student Council. As student leaders of the school, they are expected to be role models for their peers and their juniors. The policy manual of the Student council outlines procedures for withdrawal or removal from the student council to enable the students to value this role and take it seriously.
